Ahhhh, the basic brown sugar scrub. There really isn't a better natural exfoliant than brown sugar. It doesn't tear the skin like oatmeal or salt can do. Plus, it tastes delicious if it somehow makes its way into your mouth.
These brown sugar scrubs recipes are created for the face and work for all skin types. They are simple, basic and very, very popular. If you don't have brown sugar on hand, you can use a basic refined white sugar.
Make as little or as much as you want. It will store and last for awhile.
Use a face scrub once or twice a week to keep your skin in tip-top shape. It's important to exfoliate both your face and your body year-round, but you may find you need to exfoliate even more in winter.

Recipe No. 1: Brown Sugar Scrub With Honey
This super simple brown sugar scrub is incredibly moisturizing and incorporates honey and oils. It uses Manuka honey, which is produced in New Zealand by bees that pollinate the Manuka bush. Manuka honey has amazing anti-bacterial properties, making it a great ingredient for skin care.
If you don't have Manuka honey, substitute regular honey.
This recipe also includes essential oils, which you can skip if you have sensitive skin. Find out which essential oils work best with your skin type in The Best Essential Oils for Your Skin Type.
